Moto 360 Sport now available on Flipkart for Rs 19,999
While Motorola has already released the 2nd gen Moto 360 in India, the Moto 360 Sport was surprisingly absent from the country. But that changes today with Flipkart now offering the smartwatch for Rs 19,999. Since there’s only one variant on offer, there won’t multiple pricing tiers like the standard Moto 360.
As the name suggests, this is more of a fitness band than a smartwatch. It comes with built-in GPS as well as a heart-rate monitor, thus staying true to its name. The smartwatch is only available in Black though, with other variants like Orange and White missing out.
The Moto Body app works as a decent companion for your Moto 360 Sport and gives you a brief summary of your workouts and runs on a weekly basis. The smartwatch also comes with its own dedicated music player, so it can function independently of a smartphone, well in most cases anyway.
More importantly, Motorola mentions that the Moto 360 Sport comes with an all-day battery life even with the always-on display, which is quite remarkable for a smartwatch.
For Rs 19,999, I think the Moto 360 is slightly on the expensive side. But considering how Android Wear smartwatches are conventionally priced, this doesn’t surprise us too much. For just about Rs 4,000 more, customers can get their hands on the Samsung Gear S2, which comes with a fully circular display (unlike the Moto 360 Sport’s flat-tire display) and a rotating bezel UI which has won over a lot of hearts. However, the compatibility list might be fairly limited as the Gear S2 only works with a handful of non-Samsung devices.
